Yakisugi‑inspired frames

partial frame
Open Frame with horizontal rails: We’re intentionally leaving the sides open for a design effect and to complement the artwork.
Each frame is lightly charred to bring out texture and depth, then sealed with a water‑based finish that protects without hiding the wood’s character. The result is a rich, tactile edge that complements the artwork rather than competing with it.
Colour tailored to each picture
For every piece we mix a bespoke water‑based hue chosen to match and enhance the image. The colour is subtle — meant to lift tones, add warmth or coolness where needed, and create a gentle visual bridge between artwork and frame.

Materials and sustainability
We make frames that feel warm, tactile and a little smoky — inspired by the traditional yakisugi technique but adapted for our art.
The wood we usually use is PEFC certified fir, our go‑to, because it`s stable, fine‑grained and responsibly sourced.
We also use treated recycled wood for extra character and a lower footprint.
Sustainable choices are built into every frame, from timber selection to finishes.
