The Arts Patio Story

At Arts Patio, we like to think of ourselves as spreaders of color, joy, and life. Based in the East Algarve, our mission is simple: to bring homes to life with art that carries a real soul—from vibrant, rhythmic batiks to the quiet beauty of natural textures. We believe art should do more than just fill an empty wall. It should tell a story and make you feel something every time you walk into the room. We’re here to help you find pieces that don’t just decorate a space, but breathe energy and heart into it. And you can be a homeowner, designer, or a curator.

Our journey to this patio began in Spain back in 2014, sparked by a chance encounter with the captivating world of batik art. Drawn to its vibrant colors and distinctive patterns, we knew instantly that this was more than admiration—it was a calling. Under our original name, Designart, we began sharing these stunning works through pop-up exhibitions and cultural events like the WOMAD festival. The response was incredible, sparking a beautiful community of art lovers and collectors.

As life often does, it eventually brought unforeseen challenges, forcing us to put our journey on a temporary pause. But the spirit of the art never left us. Now, more than a decade later, we are back—renewed, reimagined, and rooted in Portugal. With a fresh name but the same deep devotion, we invite you to rediscover this timeless art form with us.

Today, that devotion comes alive through our close partnership with the multitalented Uruguayan artist, Andrés Parrilla. Every piece is a true collaboration: we seed the concepts and inspiration, and Andrés channels them into striking, undeniable designs. From there, we take over—carefully framing and preparing each artwork, ready to be sent out into the world to spread the joy.
