About Arts Patio
(Designart)
At Arts Patio, we act as Art Ambassadors, but we like to think of ourselves as spreaders of color, joy, and life. Based in the east part of the Algarve, we’re on a mission to bring homes to life with pieces that carry a real soul—from the rhythmic batiks to the raw, quiet beauty of natural textures.
We believe that art should do more than just fill a gap on a wall; it should tell a story and make you feel something every time you walk into the room. We’re here to help you find art that doesn’t just decorate your space—but art that breathes energy and heart into it.
In our portfolio, we have culturally rich, space-transforming works of an amazing multitalented Uruguayan artist Andrés Parrilla. We source artworks that carry the soul of their origin.
Our mission is simple: to connect collectors, designers, and curators with art that not only decorates your homes but it resonates and complement. Every piece is chosen for its ability to evoke emotion, complete a space, and honor its roots.
——————-
Our story began in 2014, in Spain, sparked by a serendipitous encounter with the captivating world of batik art. Introduced by a friend, we were instantly drawn to its vibrant colours, intricate patterns, and the unmistakable sense of life and joy radiating from each piece. It was more than admiration — it was a calling.
Driven by this passion and under the name of Designart, we began sharing these stunning works through pop-up exhibitions and cultural events, including the renowned WOMAD festival. The response was overwhelming. Our first curated exposition became a resounding success, attracting a growing community of admirers and collectors who connected deeply with the spirit of the art.
As time unfolded, life presented unforeseen challenges. Circumstances beyond our control led us to pause this journey — a difficult decision, yet one that never extinguished our connection to the art. The essence of batik remained with us, quietly inspiring and reminding us of what truly brought us joy.
Now, more than a decade later, we return — renewed, reimagined, and rooted in Portugal. With a different name but the same devotion and a fresh perspective, we invite you to rediscover this timeless art form with us.
